Lubaba,
The peanut butter part tastes like raw cookie dough, that was the goal of the recipe. I wanted it to have the consistency of cookie dough that so many people (myself included) love. The only time the recipe calls for refrigeration is when everything is assembled and you need the ganache to set. I hope I helped! junglewife, I make my own brown sugar sometimes, too - on the off chance I run out of brown sugar when I'm in the middle of baking, I whisk some molasses into granulated sugar. Works like a charm!
I think it would add a slightly darker flavor in this recipe, but in the video of Thomas Keller baking these on Today show, he also said that by creaming the sugar and butter with the molasses, that it enhances the texture of the cookies. Whatever it does, it worked because I loved this recipe! :)

Sorry about that, when I changed blog designs, my font colors changed and my links sometimes don't look like links anymore. But there it is! The recipe on grouprecipes is titled a "frosting" but I'd call it more of an icing because it is rather thin.

I haven't tried that particular method/recipe before, but I'm guessing that extra tablespoon of molasses just makes the dark brown sugar flavor a bit "darker". I live overseas and can't get brown sugar where I live, so I have to make my own by mixing molasses (imported by me :-)) into white sugar. So I would think that adding more molasses would just make a darker brown sugar.
